TEEJ CELEBRATED AT AGC, AMRITSAR

Festivity and vibrancy were witnessed at Amritsar Group of Colleges, Amritsar as the festival of Teej was celebrated with joy and fervour at college premises on Friday evening (i.e. 09/08/2019). On the occasion,Honorable Madam Ragini Sharma (Director Finance), Ms. Preeti Taneja, Ms. Priyanka Goyal, Ms. Dipti Malhotra(Dean UG Courses )and other faculty members of AGC graced the evening with their presence. Female Staff members were dressed up beautifully in Punjabi attires. They danced tobhangra beats andPunjabi boliyan. Swings were decorated with flowers. A Punjabi cultural corner was set up with Charkha, Pakhian, Phulkari, Peehra, Chhaj, Bangles and so on. Kheer and malpuras and delicious Punjabi food served to female staff members. Girls appliedmehndi on their hands and bangles were given to them. The female faculty recited 'Bolian' and performed 'Giddha' to welcome the 'Savan', the rain month, with which the festival is associated. Girls wearing traditional colourful attires broke into dances on the beats of the Punjabi music .
Overall the day was full of moments of remembrance and enjoyment. Laudable Madam Ragini Sharma(Director Finance) appreciated the efforts of the Female Faculty and said the celebration of all such festivals and functions not only provide joy, but also a way of reviving and keeping alive the traditions and customs which are vanishing these days. After that, Madam Ragini and others launched the logo of Jagriti NGO, highlighting the 3 core values for which the NGO works. These keywords are SHE(S for Sharing, H for Health and E for Education). The event took farewell with all these memorable activities.
